Cape Town (Sports Desk) South Africa defeated Pakistan by 10 wickets in the Cape Town Test to win the two-match series 0-2 and whitewash the national team, while the host team achieved a modest target of 58 runs without any loss.
In the second match of the two-Test series between Pakistan and South Africa, Pakistan was dismissed for 194 in the first innings in response to South Africa’s first innings of 615 runs and had to follow on.
In the second innings as well, the national team was facing an innings defeat due to the lack of performance from the batsmen. However, thanks to the resistance of Shan Masood, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha, the Shaheens scored 478 runs in the second innings.
Thus, Pakistan gave the host team a target of 58 runs to win, which they easily achieved on the first ball of the 8th over without any loss and won the match by 10 wickets and took the series 0-2.
Even the fight of the national batters after the follow-on could not save the team from defeat, while Pakistan faced a whitewash in the third consecutive Test series on African soil.
Fourth day
On the fourth day, Shan Masood and Khurram Shahzad started the game with 213 runs for the loss of one wicket. Khurram Shahzad was dismissed for 18 runs on a total score of 235, Kamran Ghulam was dismissed for 28 and Saud Shakeel for 23 runs, captain Shan Masood was dismissed for 145 runs and was LBW.
Later, Muhammad Rizwan was dismissed for 41, Salman Agha for 48, Amir Jamal for 34 and Mir Hamza for 16 runs, thus the entire team was dismissed for a total score of 478 runs.

Chasing 58 runs, the Proteas showed aggressive batting and achieved the target in the overs without any loss, David Bedingham returned to the pavilion not out with 44 and Aiden Markram 14 runs.
Third day
On the third day, Pakistan started the innings with 64 runs for the loss of 3 wickets, but the entire Pakistan team was dismissed for 194 runs against South Africa and was forced to follow on.
Pakistan started the second batting with a deficit of 421 runs, Babar Azam was dismissed for 81 runs, Pakistan scored 213 runs for the loss of one wicket by the end of the third day. Shan Masood was at the crease with 102 and Karam Shahzad with 8 runs.
Earlier in the first innings, captain Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam batted responsibly and put on a 98-run partnership, but Babar and Rizwan returned to the pavilion with individual scores of 58 and 46 runs.
Salman Agha scored 19, Aamir Jamal 15, Khurram Shahzad 14 and Mir Hamza scored 13 runs. Saim Ayub could not come to bat due to injury, while Mohammad Abbas was not out with zero.
For South Africa, Kagiso Rabada took 3 wickets, Mpaka and Keshav Maharaj took 2 wickets each, Wayne Mulder and Marco Jensen took one wicket each.
Second day
South Africa started the second day of play with 316 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Ryan Rickleton played a brilliant innings of 259 runs and was dismissed by Mir Hamza. Among other batsmen, Kyle Vereen 100, Marco Janis 62, Keshav Maharaj 40, David Bedingham 5 and Kevina Mafaka returned to the pavilion with a score of 0, Kagiso Rabada was not out with 6 runs.
For Pakistan, Mohammad Abbas and Salman Agha took 3 wickets each, while Mir Hamza and Khurram Shahzad took 2 wickets each.
Pakistan’s innings started disappointingly and three players were dismissed for a total score of 20. Captain Shan Masood 2, Kamran Ghulam 12 and Saud Shakeel were dismissed for 0 runs.
Babar Azam 31 and Mohammad Rizwan 9 are currently at the crease with a deficit of 551 runs to cover.

Day 1
South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 316 runs for the loss of 4 wickets by the end of the first day’s play.
After falling for 3 wickets for 72 runs, a 235-run partnership between South African opener Ryan Rickleton and captain Temba Bumrah put the team in a strong position.
Ryan Rickleton is at the crease with 176 runs and David Bedingham is with him on 4 runs.
