Punjab govt declares public holiday on February 5

LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced a public holiday on February 5, 2025, to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day across the province.

The notification was issued a day after the Sindh government’s announcement of a public holiday on the same day.

According to the notification, all government offices and educational institutions will remain closed on February 5 (Wednesday) to express solidarity with Kashmiri brethren and sisters.

Earlier, the Sindh government issued the notification, stating, “All government and semi-government offices in Sindh would remain closed on February 5 (Wednesday).”

Every year, the nation observes a public holiday on February 5 with national zeal and zest to show solidarity with the people of Kashmir for their struggle for freedom from India.

On the day, conferences, demonstrations, and events related to the day were staged across the country and worldwide shedding light on the atrocities committed by Indian troops to sabotage the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination.
